Baby Update

I had a BPP/NST (ultrasound and non-stress test) today. Everything looked good. Both tests were long as we waited for the baby to cooperate and the appropriate amount of testing time to pass. The baby was very mobile and the nurse had to keep re-adjusting my monitor because the baby would move out of range! The doctor said they would do measurements either next week or the following to check the baby's growth (I didn't realize they don't them every week). Hopefully this kid chunks up a little by next week. Everything else is looking good. It took a while but the baby managed to do 30 seconds of practice breathing for the ultrasound and I think the kid even bruised me during the non-stress test!

Now that we know that we have to kick things into gear we are making progress on the room. The top half is painted and the bottom half just needs its stripes. Jeff is working on the crib and dresser and hopefully I'll be able to post some pictures soon! We had a great conversation last Monday before our childbirth class with the nurse that teaches the class. We learned ALL about induction and how fun it sounds... (it doesn't sound fun at all...).

A couple of side notes for those of you wondering. They know it is IUGR and not just a regular small baby, or an incorrect due date because of the growth patterns. At 20 weeks the baby was at the 10th percentile and at 30 weeks it went down to the 5th percentile. Essentially this means that the growth of the baby isn't progressing at a standard rate, which is concerning since the growth is slowing and not quickening. Another reason they know it is IUGR is because (as you can tell if you've glanced at any pictures) I am growing at the right rate and my uterus is the right size for how far along I am - this is another IUGR indicator.

I did get to take home a couple of baby pictures from today's ultrasound... I'll try to get them posted soon!
