Another Baby Update

I had another doctor's appointment today. Things went well. I had the BPP (ultrasound) and the NST (non-stress test). The baby is doing well, is healthy, has good blood flow and good movement. They did measurements during the ultrasound and the baby's weight is estimated at 3lbs 4oz. This is a 5oz increase over two weeks. The baby is still measuring very small and is still coming in under the 5th percentile.

What this means...
According to the doctor I saw this morning I will be delivering at 37 weeks (August 10th). 37 weeks is used because it is the first possible time that the baby can be considered full term. I do however, still need to talk to Dr. Rao to see exactly what this means. A couple of the questions I hope Dr. Rao can answer are: does this mean that it will be sometime after August 10th or will it be on August 10th exactly that I will be induced? (We do have plans that weekend so I would like to know ahead of time if possible if we have to change them!)

  1. I'm glad that Baby L is acting healthy and gaining some weight! Wow, you will have your baby in just a month... good thing Jeff is so productive on the crib and nursery. A friend of mine here has a little boy who was born early and tiny at 27 weeks. He was in and out of the doctor's the first year, but now he's an active healthy normal 3 year old and I would never guess he was a preemie. Wasn't Brian born early too? Maybe Aunt Debbie has some tips. Enjoy the last month and I can't wait to meet your little one next time I'm home! (next March)
