Ayla One Month

Ayla had her one month wellness visit last week. She did great. She got longer, her head got bigger and she weighed in at 8lbs and 6oz. She is HUGE!!! (It amazes me that some babies are born that big...) She was diagnosed with acid reflux which stinks, but gives us an explanation for why she doesn't like for us to lay her on her back at bedtime.

Ayla sill wakes every two hours or so to eat at night. Sometimes she sleeps well and sometimes she doesn't, we aren't sure what the variable is, but we take the awake times in shifts so we both get some sleep. She is starting to really observe the world. She recognizes our voices and turns towards us when we talk while someone else is holding her. She loves snuggling and wants to be with us all the time, which we love, except when we want to get to sleep! She is just starting to make social smiles which are super cute - though hard to catch on camera!

As parents we are finally getting to know her cries, though she only cries when she needs something from us and we aren't moving fast enough for her. We are definitely becoming better parents and getting better and better at knowing what she needs and wants before she gets upset about it. She is getting fun and we love her so much!
